Awaken the math genius in your child acts as a great enabler to embed interest in Maths, right from a young age. This will gradually eliminate the fear for Maths in the kids. One of the main reasons for which I have opted to read this book is my great respect for the author. Shakuntala Devi, popularly known as human computer, made entry in Guinness World Records with her arithmetic abilities.
Rather than asking kids to solve puzzles and attend math classes, the author conveys that the subject is a part of day-to-day life and is as natural as breathing. The techniques shared on spacial visualization, “third eye”, are very interesting and easy to implement. This gives children an opportunity to study form and rebuild it, which is the seed of Maths.
The other points captured by the author on emergence of numeral systems, Maths magic in music, perceiving relationship in problems, 4 C’s to become mathematician etc. are all worth reading.
